**This article is for the School Edition of Accountable2You for Chrome, designed specifically for devices that are owned OR administrated/managed by a school system. For all others, please see our regular Chromebook Setup article.**
Step 1: On your Chomebook (or Chrome browser) open the Chrome Store and search for the Accountable2You School Edition Extension.
Step 2: Press "Add extension" to put the Extension into Chrome.
Step 3: Register this device.
Accountable2You requires a subscription. If you have not signed up for an account, select the "Signup" option and you will be directed to our website to create an account. Once you have created an account, or if you already have one, click "Login" to proceed.
You will be asked to read and agree to the license terms of using the program. Please take a moment to review this information and select "I accept the terms" when finished. Click "Continue" to move to the next step.
On the next screen, enter your Accountable2You username and password, along with a name for the device. The "Computer Name" can be whatever you wish. This is how the device will appear on your reports, so make it something that will clearly indicate which device this is (ie. John's Chromebook). When finished click "Add Chrome to Account".
Step 4: Registration confirmation.
Upon successful registration you will see the screen below. Select "Add Accountability Partners" to be redirected to your Accountable2You account, where you can specify partners to receive reports and alerts for this user's activity. You may close the tab when finished.
You're all setup!
You will know that Accountable2You is monitoring by the presence of the "AU" icon in the top-right corner of your browser.
Want to test the system?
Instead of going to an inappropriate website to test the rating system, please use the link provided below to conduct a "Red Alert Test". This will generate a sample alert from your device, and you should see the alert appear on your account within a few minutes (as well as send an alert to anyone setup as an accountability partner for that device).
Click here to perform the red alert test. (Make sure you are on the device that you want to test when you click this link).
You report will shortly show an activity similar to this:
