Update Accountable2You CT on Android

What is Accountable2You CT?

Accountable2You CT is an upgraded version of our standard Android app. It tracks extra details about your text messages and phone calls to help you stay accountable.

Because Google has strict security rules for its store, you cannot download this version from the Google Play Store. Instead, you need to install it directly using a special link.

To request the download link, send an email to support@accountable2you.com.

These instructions apply only to Accountable2You CT. If you are using our standard app from the Google Play Store, you should update it directly from there instead.

If you need to install the standard app on your device, please refer to our guide on how to install Accountable2You for Android.

We regularly release updates that improve performance and fix bugs. Because of Android's security features, updating Accountable2You CT takes a few extra steps.

1. Check for Updates in the Monitoring App

  • Open the Accountable2You Monitoring app and tap the Updates button.
  • If a new version is available, tap Update Now.

2. Download the Update

  • If Android asks you to download Accountable2You again, tap Download again.
  • Once the file finishes downloading, tap the Accountable2You .apk file and select Update.

3. Dismiss the Play Protect Security Notice

If Google Play Protect is active on your device, a warning pop-up will likely appear stating that the update was blocked. This message is a standard notification that Android shows whenever you install applications outside of its official store.

Because this update comes directly from Accountable2You, it is safe to proceed with the installation.

  • Tap More details.
  • Tap "Install anyway."
  • Once the update finishes, a message will appear confirming that the "App installed."

4. Enable Accessibility

If all permissions are already granted, you may skip this section entirely. Otherwise, follow these steps to enable the required settings:

Grant Basic Permissions

  • Open Accountable2You and tap Permissions > Allow Permission > Allow.
