Install Accountable2You School Edition for Chromebook
Important: Before you begin
This article is for use by organization/school IT administrators hoping to deploy Accountable2You to all of their managed Chromebook devices.
If you are not your organization's IT administrator, then you'll want to use the standard Chromebook edition found here instead.
The instructions below detail how to install and register the extension on a single device, but in most cases, the installation would be pushed to all devices using G-Suite once initial testing was completed by the administrator. Both Guest Mode and Incognito Mode should be turned off/disabled on all managed devices before deployment.
Step One: Using a Chromebook, open the Chrome Store with the Chrome browser and search for the Accountable2You School Edition Extension.
Step Two: Click "Add extension" to put the Extension into Chrome.
Step Three: Register this device.
Accountable2You requires a subscription. If you have not signed up for an account, select the "Signup" option and you will be directed to our website to create an account. Once you have created an account, or if you already have one, click "Login" to proceed.
You will be asked to read and agree to the license terms of using the program. Please take a moment to review this information and select "I accept the terms" when finished. Click "Continue" to move to the next step.
On the next screen, enter your Accountable2You username and password, along with a name for the device. The "Computer Name" can be whatever you wish. This is how the device will appear on your reports, so make it something that will clearly indicate which device this is (ie. John's Chromebook). When finished click "Add Chrome to Account".
Step Four: Registration confirmation.
Upon successful registration, you will see the screen below. Select "Add Accountability Partners" to be redirected to your Accountable2You account, where you can specify partners to receive reports and alerts for this user's activity. You may close the tab when finished.
You're all set!
You will know that Accountable2You is monitoring by the presence of the "AU" icon in the top-right corner of your browser.
