Can I Exclude Apps From Being Monitored?

Yes! Accountable2You's monitoring app for Windows, Mac, Linux, and Android operating systems features an application exclusion list that enables you to specify programs or applications that you do not wish to be monitored. This can be necessary in some circumstances in order to maintain privacy and/or to protect confidential information.

As an example, our monitoring app for Android is very powerful and can capture text messages and e-mail content. Adult users who are looking for general accountability, but who may feel that the monitoring of their texting and e-mail activity is too intrusive, may opt to exclude such applications.

So what keeps me from using this to circumvent the accountability?

Anytime you exclude an application, this will appear as a "Highly Questionable" alert on your accountability report so that your partners are notified of this event. They will also be informed of the name of the application that you have chosen to exclude. If partners are unsure of why an app was excluded, or if they have any concerns, they are encouraged to talk directly to the user to find out more. It can also be very helpful if you inform your partners in advance of what you intend to exclude and why, to help avoid any undue concerns.
