Installing Accountable2You On Chrome/Chromebooks

This version of Accountable2You is primarily designed for Chromebook. For Windows, Mac and Linux users, this extension is not necessary if you already have Accountable2You installed to cover the whole computer.

**Note: If you have a school owned OR school administrated/managed Chromebook, please see the instructions for our Accountable2You School Edition installation.**

Installation Guide for Chrome

Step 1: On your Chomebook (or Chrome browser) open the Chrome Store and search for the Accountable2You Extension.

Press "Add To Chrome".

Step 2: Press "Add extension" to put the Extension into Chrome.

Step 3: Register this device

A tab should automatically open to the registration window. Fill in your Accountable2You account name, password and a name for this computer.

On the next screen, please read and accept the terms and conditions for using Accountable2You.

Step 4: Install the validator extension

In order for the Chrome version to monitor effectively, a separate extension must also be installed. To do this, simply click on the link provided under "Install Validation Extension".

When the validator install window opens, click "Add to Chrome"

Click "Add Extension"

Step 5: Allow Incognito Monitoring

Return to the Accountable2You installation tab in your browser. Click on the link provided under the "Enable Incognito Monitoring" section.

Check the Allow In Incognito checkbox.

Your screen will look like this. You can now close this tab. Chrome is now being monitored.

Step 6: Add Accountability Partners

Click on the "AU" icon int he top-right of your Chrome browser.

At the bottom of the screen that appears, click "Add Accountability Partners."

You will be directed to the Accountable2You website where you will login and register your new Chrome device to your partners.

Want to test the system?

Instead of going to an inappropriate website to test the rating system, please use the link provided below to conduct a "Red Alert Test". This will generate a sample alert from your device, and you should see the alert appear on your account within a few minutes (as well as send an alert to anyone setup as an accountability partner for that device).

Click here to perform the red alert test. (Make sure you are on the device that you want to test when you click this link).

You report will shortly show an activity similar to this:
