What devices and OS versions are supported?
We support the production (current) versions of all the operating systems listed below. However, we don't support beta versions of any operating system or outdated versions that can't receive the latest security updates.
In this article:
Windows

We support the Windows versions below.
- Windows 11 (Except S mode)
- Windows 10 (Except RT & S mode)
Supported Windows Server platforms:
- Windows Server 2022
- Windows Server 2019
- Windows Server 2016
Not supported:
- 32-bit operating systems are not supported.
- Windows phones and prior editions of Windows operating systems are no longer officially supported, but the software may still work on these versions.*
ARM-based devices are also unsupported, although they may work with our app if the device is running Windows 11.*
*In any case, when attempting to install our software on older devices or devices with unsupported hardware, we recommend proceeding at your own discretion.
Mac

We support both Intel and Apple silicon-based Macs that still receive Apple's new security updates. Currently, macOS 13 (Ventura) is the oldest version officially maintained by Apple.
Apple iOS
Click here for iOS setup instructions.
Our iOS monitoring app is designed and optimized for iOS 15 and newer, so those versions will provide the best experience on the following devices:
- iPhone
- iPad
- iPod Touch
If you have iOS devices running iOS 13.5 or 14, Accountable2You may install and run successfully, but there is a possibility of unintended performance issues due to the older operating system.
With that in mind, we'd recommend updating to iOS 15 by following the steps from Apple's official support site.
Android
Click here for Android setup instructions.
We support Android smartphones that still receive security updates and are supported by Google Android.
- Devices running Android 12* and greater**
*Devices running Android 5.0 and higher have been known to work without issue, yet please note that the introductory statement is still true. We can only support the Android platforms that still receive security updates and are supported by Google Android.
**Phone and tablet devices are supported. Android TV and other variations may not be compatible.
Not supported: Kyocera brand devices. (These devices operate differently than most Android devices from other manufacturers, which prevents Accountable2You from monitoring activity successfully.)
Kindle Fire
Click here for Kindle Fire setup instructions.
Amazon Kindle devices run on an operating system called FireOS, which is Amazon’s customized edition of Android. However, current versions of FireOS are based on older (non-current) versions of Android.
Because of this, we can only officially support the devices listed below if they're running FireOS 8 (based on Android 11) or newer.
- Kindle Fire
- Kindle Fire HD
- Fire Phone
Android-based platforms are generally more flexible than others, so you're welcome to try our app on older Kindle devices. Just keep in mind that our troubleshooting and support will be limited for outdated FireOS versions.
Chrome and Chrome OS
Click here for Chrome setup instructions.
We support Chromebooks running Google's ChromeOS that still receive security updates. (However, our extension will generally run on any Chrome browser as long as it's version 88 or later).
This browser extension is primarily designed for Chromebook and monitors all activity within Google Chrome. This extension is not necessary if you're using Mac, Windows, or Linux. We recommend using the versions specifically designed for those products.
Linux
Click here for Linux information and setup instructions.
We currently offer our app as a Snap package, which allows us to maintain a single build that works across multiple Linux distributions. In principle, Accountable2You can be installed on any distribution that supports the Snap Store.
However, because Linux represents a relatively small portion of our customer base, we've focused our resources on building for mainstream distributions. This helps us maintain a high-quality product for as many users as possible. Typically, Accountable2You runs well on:
- Ubuntu (and official Ubuntu flavors)
- Fedora
- Debian
- Linux Mint
That said, you're always welcome to try installing our Snap on other distributions, even if we can't officially support them. For additional notes and troubleshooting tips for specific Linux distributions, please visit our documentation here.
Our Linux app does not currently support ARM-based processors, including Raspberry Pi computers.
Our app is designed to work in X11 sessions, so we recommend using the X11 display server for a fully supported experience. (Most distributions provide a simple way to switch to X11 if you aren't already using it.)
In short, the Wayland display protocol prevents our monitoring from working consistently, so if you choose to use Wayland, you're likely to encounter issues with monitoring performance.
